Metapan defeated Brujos at home 74-70. American swingman Eddie Ishman (197-1986, college: Miles) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Center Marco Tejada (194-1984) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. Julio Crespin (184-1997) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Brujos will play next round against A.Lobos trying to get back on the winning streak. Metapan will try to continue on its current victory against Santiagueno in Usultan.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Santa Tecla in San Salvador. Visitors were rolled over by Salvadorenos 89-63. Worth to mention a great performance of Emanuel Rodriguez who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 assists. Brayan Garcia contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Salvadorenos' coach Sergio Rouco felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. An interesting game where Santa Ana beat host A.Lobos 73-66 on Wednesday evening. Timothy Simmons stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. At the losing side Sean Scott responded with 19 points and 7 rebounds. A.Lobos' coach Marlon Viana rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Ana will meet at home Salvadorenos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. A.Lobos will play against Brujos in Izalco and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
